Abstract
A hands-free headset, comprising a display module configured to receive visual data and display the visual data on a constituent microdisplay element of the display module. The headset further comprises a mounting bracket configured to releasably attach the headset to a head-worn accoutrement. The mounting bracket may be configured to be fixedly attached to the head-worn accoutrement. The mounting bracket may comprise a first interface for releasably coupling to a second interface on the headset. The headset may comprise a communication interface configured to electrically couple the headset to the a mobile computing device, and to convey the visual data from the mobile computing device to the headset. The headset may utilize the mobile computing device for performing one or both of processing functions and data storage functions.
