Abstract

A system (100) for determining the presence of a person is disclosed. The system (100) comprises a first user input device (102), located at a first space (112), arranged for generating a request signal based on a first user input. The system further comprises a plurality of lighting devices (108, 110), located at a second space (114), different from the first space (112), arranged for providing general illumination. The system further comprises a second device (104), located at the second space (114), arranged for generating a response signal, wherein the response signal is based on an indication of the presence of the person. The system further comprises a processor (106) arranged for receiving the request signal and the response signal, wherein the processor (106) is further arranged for changing a light setting of a first lighting device (108) of the plurality of lighting devices (108, 110) upon receiving the request signal, and for changing, when the response signal has not been received within a predetermined period of time, the light setting of a subsequent lighting device (110) of the plurality of lighting devices (108, 110).
