The invention relates to a housing for a medical implant. According to the invention, at least part of a housing for a medical implant is made of an insulator material as a dielectric, and the inner face and outer face of the insulator material each include at least one electrically conducting contact area (2, 2a, 2b . . . 3, 3a, 3b . . . ) which acts as a capacitor electrode and forms a capacitor along with the insulator material.
