An adjustable ladder and stair system has a folding stair assembly including a ladder-member having a first-end, a second-end, a plurality of rungs equidistantly spaced between a first-rail and a second-rail, and a securer, a stair-member having a stair-portion, a first-rail-slide-mechanism, a second-rail-slide-mechanism, a first-rail-locking-mechanism, and a second-rail-locking-mechanism. The ladder-member may be secured in a vertical position parallel to a substantially vertical item desired to be ascended via the securer. The folding stair assembly provides an apparatus for safely accessing a substantially vertical item desired to be ascended such as a roll off garbage bins.
