Abstract

The invention relates to apparatus and method for use in the performance of work on a workpiece, said apparatus including a plurality of legs depending from a body so that, when the legs are in an in-use position, the body is supported at a fixed distance from a support surface with which the legs contact. The apparatus, in a first mode of use, has a clamping function to allow the workpiece to be clamped with the body and said apparatus further includes one or more support means, in one embodiment in the form of support arms, which are engageable with the body so as to define a support for the location and engagement of a power tool which, when engaged, is usable to perform a work operation on said workpiece with the apparatus being provided in a second mode.
