Abstract
A pneumatic tire is for a motor vehicle. The pneumatic tire includes a first side that is an inner side of the pneumatic tire, and an opposite second side. A least a part of the pneumatic tire has rubber-based material that is configured to restrict gas permeability and that includes lignin that has been treated by hydrothermal carbonization. The rubber-based material or a coating of the rubber-based material forms at least a part of the first side of the pneumatic tire. A method is for manufacturing a pneumatic tire.
