Abstract

Provided a material based on polytetrafluoroethylene and process for preparing the same. The process includes using polytetrafluoroethylene and processing aids as raw materials, melt blending the raw materials followed by forming, and optionally undergoing post-processing; wherein the post-processing is selected from at least one of microporization, heat treatment, and surface treatment. The process has good versatility, capable of preparing various polytetrafluoroethylene membrane materials with thermal shrinkage properties or polytetrafluoroethylene microporous membrane materials, and the materials prepared possess excellent strength and toughness, being flexible and soft. Moreover, the membrane can be functionally modified in situ during the processing, avoiding complex post-processing modification and processing.
