Abstract
A separation apparatus and a method for separating solid particles from a fluid are described. The separation apparatus includes a first conical surface for receiving a first cyclone to separate first solid particles and a second conical surface below the first conical surface for receiving a second cyclone to separate second solid particles. The separation apparatus also includes a sedimentation housing below the second conical surface for collecting the first solid particles and the second solid particles. The method includes forming a first cyclone to separate first solid particles from fluid, forming a second cyclone to separate second solid particles from the fluid, and collecting the first solid particles and the second solid particles.
