Abstract

A light source module capable of combining light beams emitted by two semiconductor lasers mounted on the same substrate before entering a collimator lens to be focused on an image plane is provided. The light source module includes the two semiconductor lasers and a light beam combining element. The two semiconductor lasers are arranged so as to have parallel light axes. The light beams emitted by the two semiconductor lasers enter the light beam combining element which emits the light beams with respective light axes made closer to each other. An air conversion length of a total distance from a light emitting surface of one semiconductor laser to an exit surface of the light beam combining element, and an air conversion length of a total distance from a light emitting surface of the other semiconductor laser to the exit surface are equal to each other.
