Abstract
A shower drain and a method for draining off excess water from a floor to a sewer are provided which includes: a water inlet unit configured to receive the excess water; a double layer water outlet unit, mechanically coupled to the water inlet module to form a reservoir having a bottom connecting chambers that contain a body of water at a predetermined height that force the excess water beyond said predetermined height to overflow into the sewer; and a water level sensor circuitry placed inside double layer water outlet unit for transmitting the water level information inside the reservoir.
