Abstract
Light of a virtual image of image content is projected by an optical subsystem to an eye location. The optical subsystem collects the light from a first aperture to the eye location. The virtual image is of an object located within a second aperture, wherein the first and second apertures are not collocated. In an associated method, a flat-panel image-display modulator within the second aperture imparts image content of the virtual image onto light generated by a source of light within the first aperture.
