Provided herein is the use of Bacteroides fragilis in the prevention and treatment of cancer treatment-induced diarrhea. Specifically, Bacteroides fragilis can be used to prevent and treat cancer treatment-induced diarrhea. In addition, Bacteroides fragilis can be used in the preparation of a composition for preventing and/or treating side effects of chemotherapy or targeted drugs, such as food intake change, body weight change, diarrhea, inflammatory factor increase, intestinal mucosa injury, mucosa congestion, inflammatory cell infiltration and/or gland damage.
