Abstract

A heat sound converter converts heat into sound waves using thermoacoustic phenomena. The heat sound converter includes a heater, a cooler and a heat accumulator. Heat transfer portions that divide the sound wave passages into multiple sections are provided on an inner circumferential side of the outer circumference portions of the heater and the cooler. In the heat accumulator, a heat transfer wall portion for transferring heat to each of the heat transfer portions is formed at a position facing each of the heat transfer portions in a cross section perpendicular to an axial direction along a formation direction of the intermediate sound wave passage. The heat transfer wall portion has a thickness greater than a thickness of the cell wall and is formed in a state in which it closes a part of the intermediate sound wave passage.
