Abstract
A system for surveying includes, a base station, for being positioned with respect to an environment, and an augmented-reality device. The augmented-reality device, such as a head-mounted display, has one or more cameras. An image of the base station is acquired by at least of the one or more cameras. An offset from the augmented-reality device to the base station is calculated based on the image. A position of the augmented-reality device with respect to the environment is calculated based on the offset and the base station positioned with respect to the environment. A virtual object in relation to the environment can then be presented to a user, using the augmented-reality device.
