Abstract

A rare-earth cobalt permanent magnet according to an aspect of the present disclosure consists of a sintered compact having a composition consisting of R: 24 to 27 wt % (R is a total of rare-earth elements), Fe: 23 to 27 wt %, Cu: 4.0 to 5.0 wt %, Zr: 1.5 to 2.5 wt %, Mn: 0.1 to 2.5 wt %, and a remainder consisting of Co and unavoidable impurities, in which: the rare-earth cobalt permanent magnet contains a plurality of crystal grains and grain boundary phases; an average concentration of Mn in the grain boundary phases is 0.5 to 1.5 times higher than an average concentration of Mn in the crystal grains; the crystal grains have a 2-17 phase having a Th₂Zn₁₇-type structure and a 1-5 phase having an RCo₅-type structure; and an average concentration of Mn in the 1-5 phase is 0.4 to 1.5 times higher than an average concentration of Mn in the 2-17 phase.
