Abstract

A power tool includes a housing with a motor housing portion, a handle portion extending from the motor housing portion, and a battery receptacle configured to receive a battery pack. An electric motor is supported in the motor housing portion. A trigger extends from the handle portion. An actuator is located on a top surface of the housing opposite the battery receptacle and includes a magnet. A sensor is positioned adjacent the actuator to detect a position of the magnet and output an actuator signal representative of a position of the actuator based on the detected position of the magnet. A controller is configured to control the electric motor based on the actuator signal received from the sensor such that the electric motor rotates in a first direction when the actuator is in the first position and rotates in an opposite direction when the actuator is in the second position.
