The present invention relates to a lithium battery electrolyte comprising a lithium borate salt and a trifluoroacetamide compound, wherein the lithium borate salt is as represented by formula (I) below, and the trifluoroacetamide compound is represented by formula (II) below. The electrolyte of the present invention has a wide electrochemical stability window of about 5V. Furthermore, the electrolyte also has excellent compatibility with cathode and anode electrodes. In addition, the electrolyte can achieve the oriented deposition growth of lithium metal under the conditions of relatively large current density, inhibit lithium dendrites, improve the Coulombic efficiency of charging and discharging process, and achieve a long cycle life in a high-energy-density lithium metal battery with more than 500 Wh/kg.
