Light source utilizing pyrotechnic and phosphorescent materials to provide a sustained glow or light. The device includes an elongated tubular casing of light transmissive material, a core of pryotechnic material within the casing, and a phosphorescent material in the wall of the casing which is activated by light produced in ignition of the pyrotechnic material.
