Abstract
A process for producing a novel intramolecular pyrophosphonate for example, dimethyl-p-menthane-2,7-diylpyrophosphonate by heating a diphosphonate for example, tetramethyl-p-menthane-2,7-diyldiphosphonate to a temperature between about 200.degree. C. and 300.degree. C. for a period from about 0.5 to about 10 hours, e.g., 6 hours.
