Abstract
Compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein A represents N or C-Cl, and, in the case where A.dbd.N, their quaternization products of the formula ##STR2## in which R represents an alkyl, cycloalkyl or aralkyl radical and X denotes an inorganic or organic acid radical, and it being possible, in the formulae I and II, for the cyclic and acyclic radicals to carry non-chromophoric substituents customary for whiteners, are suitable for the whitening of organic materials, as scintillators and laser dyestuffs.
