Abstract
An apparatus for controlling metal coatings on wire, strip, mesh or the like, emerging substantially vertically from metal baths, comprising an electromagnetic device adapted for situation at or below the point of emergence of the wire, strip, mesh or the like from the molten bath, said electromagnetic device providing an alternating electromagnetic field generated by single phase alternating electric current, and the positioning being such that the point of emergence is always within the electromagnetic field.
