The invention concerns a process and a device for optimizing delivery conditions, specifically in a mill suction pneumatic system in which, as a rule, a large number of conveyor lines are connected to a common manifold or to a fan. Cyclone separators are employed for each individual conveyor line, and the air pressure across the cyclone is regulated to an essentially constant value through automatic adjustment of a slide valve after the cyclone. The opening movement of the slide valve is preferably effected more rapidly than the closing movement. This regulation avoids instabilities in the conveyance and increases its operational safety and economic efficiency.
