Abstract
Solid absorbent materials, having adsorbed thereto from about 25 ppm to about 500 ppm of a halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon bacteriostat, when used as animal litter products, effectively prevent the development of urine odors. Absorbent pads having adsorbed thereto from about 5000 ppm to about 30,000 ppm of the bacteriostat when used as liners in litter boxes likewise effectively control odor development.
