Abstract

A composition comprising (A) the reaction product of (A)(1) one or more alpha-beta olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid reagents containing 2 to about 20 carbon atoms exclusive of the carboxyl-based groups, with (A)(2) one or more olefin polymers of at least 30 carbon atoms selected from the group consisting of homopolymers and/or interpolymers of mono-olefins of from 12 to 30 carbon atoms, and chlorinated or brominated analogs thereof; and (B) the reaction product of (B)(1) one or more alpha-beta olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid reagents containing 2 to about 20 carbon atoms exclusive of the carboxyl-based groups, with (B)(2) one or more olefin polymers of at least 30 carbon atoms selected from the group consisting of homopolymers and/or interpolymers of mono-1-olefins of from 2 to 8 carbon atoms and chlorinated or brominated analogs thereof. Compositions made by reacting mixtures of components (A) and (B) with one or more alcohols, one or more amines, or mixtures of one or more alcohols and/or one or more amines are also disclosed. Lubricant and fuel compositions, and additive concentrates for such lubricant and fuel compositions, containing the foregoing compositions are also disclosed.
