Novel antibacterially active 1-cyclopropyl-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-7-(3-oxo-1-piperazinyl)-3-quinolinecarboxylic acids of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, and R.sup.2 is hydrogen or fluorine, and pharmaceutically tolerable hydrates and salts thereof.
