Abstract
A method of inserting field windings in the core of an axial flux induction electric machine, the method includes providing a former about which wire is wound to form a plurality of convolutions, aligning the former with a radial face of the core and then moving the convolutions from the former into slots in the radial face to thereby form a field winding.
