A fiber-based fabric having a high fire resistance, a low weight per unit area and a good mechanical strength, comprising a mixture of: (a) about 50-90% by weight of textured glass fibers, (b) about 10-50% by weight of carbon fibers. Said fabric is useful for the construction of articles for fitting out the interior of aircraft.
