Abstract
A method for producing a lysin-free phage inoculum, which comprises: (a) inoculating a growing Streptococcal culture with phage, (b) incubating the culture for a plurality of lytic cycles of phage until the cells are completely lysed to obtain a lysate, and (c) removing cell debris and free lysin from the lysate to form a lysin-free phage suitable for use as an inoculum. A method for producing lysin is also disclosed.
