A call forwarding device forwards calls from a calling party via private equipment B operating in a call forwarding mode to a predetermined called party identified by a preprogrammed telephone number. The device is remotely controllable by the calling party over the telephone lines to cancel the call forwarding mode of the device and to reprogram the call forwarding telephone number.
