Abstract
An ether free magnesium bisorganoamide of the formula Mg[N(R.sup.1) (R.sup.2)].sub.2 wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently selected from hydrogen and alkyl groups containing 2 to 20 carbon atoms with the proviso that at least one of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 is other than hydrogen or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 taken together form an alkylene chain of 4 to 20 carbon atoms and a method of manufacture. Also disclosed are lithium-magnesiumorganoamides and organosubstituted lithium-magnesiumorganoamide.
