Abstract
A method for judging the correctness or incorrectness of a subdivision pattern detected on a recording medium comprises the steps of detecting the subdivision pattern in cases where the recording area of a recording medium was divided into a plurality of regions and radiation images were recorded in the respective regions. The detection is based on an image signal made up of a series of image signal components obtained from the recording medium which has been subjected to a radiation image recording process. A characteristic value representing the image signal components corresponding to each of the divided regions is then calculated and compared with a predetermined value. A judgment as to whether the detected subdivision pattern is or is not correct is based on the results of the comparison made between the characteristic value corresponding to each of the divided regions and the predetermined value.
