Abstract

A programmable termination device includes an insulating body member and a plurality of pins to be inserted into an integrated circuit board. A plurality of circuit terminating elements are provided in the insulating body member, and a plurality of programmable fuses are provided for selectively connecting each of the circuit terminating elements to, or isolating each of the terminating elements from, the corresponding pins. The programmable fuses can be 'blown' or left 'intact' to program the device into the desired terminating configuration. An integrated circuit is 'piggy-backed' over the programmable termination device into the same holes of the integrated circuit board as the pins of the programmable termination device.
