Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of methyl-quinoline derivatives, useful as meflocin intermediates, of the formula (I) ##STR1## or salts thereof, wherein X.sup.1 stands for hydrogen or a non-binding electron pair, R.sup.1 stands for hydrogen or a group of the formula (II) ##STR2## R.sup.2 stands for acyloxy or hydroxyl and the dotted line indicates an optionally aromatic ring.
