Abstract
This invention provides smoking compositions which contain a novel vanillin flavorant-release additive. A cigarette smoking product comprising (1) a combustible filler selected from natural tobacco, reconstituted tobacco and tobacco substitutes, and (2) a paper wrapper which has incorporated therein a flavorant-release additive corresponding to the formula: ##STR1## where R is methyl or ethyl.
