Abstract
A composition and method for self-tanning of skin is provided which includes an .alpha.-hydroxy substituted ketone or aldehyde such as dihydroxacetone, a polyacrylamide and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Advantageously, there may also be incorporated at least 15% propylene glycol to improve color intensity.
