Abstract
The present invention relates to a benzofuran derivative having the following general formula (I), ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be the same or different and represent a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group and R.sup.3 represents a group --CH.dbd.CH--CH.dbd.CH--CH.sub.3 or a group --(CH.sub.2).sub.4 CH.sub.3, a process for the preparation of the same, an anti-inflammation and anti-allergic agent comprising the same as an effective component, and a novel microorganism producing the compound.
