Abstract
There is provided a method for protecting substrates subject to contact by infections viral organisms by treating such substrates with virucidally effective amount of a composition containing a synthetic phospholipid of the formula: ##STR1## wherein: x is 1 to 3 or mixtures thereof; x+y=3; z=x; a=0 to 2; B=O.sup.- or OM; A is an Anion; M is a Cation; R.sub.3 is an amidoamine moiety of the formula: ##STR2## wherein: n is an integer from about 2 to 6. R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, and R.sub.7 are as defined in the specification.
