Abstract
A non-diluent oil process for producing a fluid sulfurized/neutralized phenate comprising: a) oligomerizing a (C.sub.6 -C.sub.20) olefin; b) alkylating the oligomerized olefin to produce a oligomerized (C.sub.6 -C.sub.20) alkyl phenol; c) neutralizing and sulfurizing the oligomerized (C.sub.6 -C.sub.20) alkyl phenol to produce a fluid neutralized/sulfurized phenate product; and d) recovering said fluid phenate product.
