Abstract
Coating composition containing a resin and fine particles of an electrically semiconductive substance, whereby a coating film to be formed therefrom on a work article surface exhibits a varistor property represented by the following equation (1): I=(V/V.sub.1).sup.n (1) wherein I is a current density (mA/cm.sup.2); V.sub.1 is a voltage at which a current of 1 mA begins to flow when a voltage applied to the coating film is increased; V is an applied voltage; and n is an exponent showing the non-linearity between I and V and is 1.5 or more. Coating films formed from such coating composition exhibit excellent film forming and corrosion-resistant properties.
