Abstract
A process for the curing of animal hides using a brine solution including the step of adding an effective bactericidal and flocculating amount of a composition comprising: 10-30 wt. % acetic acid 5-20 wt. % peracetic acid 15-25 wt. % hydrogen peroxide 1-10 wt. % phosphoric acid balance water Other peracids, such as, perlactic acid, percitric acid, perproprionic acid, perbenzoic acid, perpentenoic acid and perbutyric acid may be used.
