Abstract
An electronic typewriter having an ink jet printer that can prevent deterioration of printing quality and ejection failure of ink of the recording head or ejection unit of the ink jet printer, even when the recording head of the ink jet printer is exposed to air during the recording head stops its operation. The recording head is exposed to air in such an operation mode as layout determination like a margin setting, or tab setting. When the processing time of such operation mode exceeds predetermined times, ejection recovery processing of the recording head is carried out to maintain the good ejection state of the recording head depending on the processing time.
