Abstract

An alignment adjusting system for use in an optical system in an optical transceiver includes an optical antenna having a main mirror and a submirror, both of which are provided around an optical axis of the optical antenna. An optical coupling unit couples the optical antenna to the optical transceiver. The optical antenna transmits a beam of transmitting light output from the optical transceiver to an optical antenna of a destination station after sequentially reflecting the beam of transmitting light by the submirror and the main mirror. A return-reflection mirror provided in either one of the main mirror and the submirror return-reflects a part of the beam of transmitting light. A photodetector detects a defocusing amount of the beam of transmitting light in the optical antenna in response to the beam of transmitting light return-reflected, and a moving mechanism moves the submirror in a direction parallel to the optical axis of the optical antenna, Further, a controller controls the moving mechanism so that the defocusing amount of the beam of transmitting light becomes substantially zero, in response to the defocusing amount of the beam of transmitting light.
