Abstract
An emergency breathing device for use of evacuation in connection with fires, chemical accidents or the like, and which comprises a heat-resisting and gas-tight protective hood (1) which is adapted to surround the head (2) of a user, and wherein there are arranged an oxygen supply unit having a reservoir (12) for the supply of oxygen to the breathing air in the hood, and a CO.sub.2 absorber (14) for purifying the breathing air. The hood (1) has double walls (3, 4) for providing a closed breathing bag (5) which is separated from the surrounding atmosphere and which is provided with a suitable positioned mouthpiece (7) for use by the user. Further, the oxygen supply unit comprises a dosing means (40) which is arranged to inject oxygen in accordance with the breathing frequency of the user.
