Abstract

A copying machine in which an image scanner reciprocates along a main-scanning direction to read an original image, and a recording head of a printer also reciprocates along the main-scanning direction to record an image. To avoid slanting the recorded image by the reciprocating motion of the recording head, and to achieve high-speed printing, nozzles of the recording head are aligned in a line slanted with respect to a subscanning direction. Thus, image data read by the image scanner is real-time converted to a recording signal and supplied as a nozzle driving signal to the recording head.
