Abstract

The joining device is constituted by U-shaped staples fixed to the ends of the conveyor belt. The staples (1) comprise in their concave part a ring (3) of a wear resisting material the wear being due to the friction, and which has also good slipping properties. A tightness stripe (8) links the rings (3) and therefore the staples (1). The tightness stripe (8) comprises blades (9) which form a double tightness barrier in the gaps which are present between the front part (14) of the conveyor belt (13) and the front convex part of the opposed staple. The staples (1) are connected by means of a linking and hinging rod (15) threaded across the rings (3) of the successive staples (1) belonging alternately to one and to the other staple row. When mounted the rings (3) are in abutment against the front part (14) of the conveyor (13).
