Abstract

A polysiloxane composition including an amphoteric class of organosilicone composition is provided having the formula: ##STR1## wherein: R.sub.1, which can be the same or different, is selected from R.sub.2, a diamine containing group of the forumula --F.sub.1 --B--F--NH.sub.3 and at least one pyrrolidone-containing functional carboxyl group of the general formula: ##STR2## wherein R.sub.5 is hydrogen, lower alkyl (C.sub.1-6) or alkali metal; F.sub.1 is linear or branched alkylene; F is linear or branched alkylene of 1-10 carbon atoms; B is --NR.sub.9, wherein R.sub.9 is hydrogen or lower alkyl (C.sub.1-6); R.sub.2 can be the same or different and is selected from alkyl, aryl or olefinic; R.sub.3 and R.sub.4, which may be the same or different are selected from alkyl, aryl, capped or uncapped polyoxyalkylene, alkaryl, aralkylene or alkenyl; a is an integer from 0 to 50,000; and b is an integer from 0 to 100.
