Abstract
An exhaust gas purifying catalyst capable of exhibiting excellent catalytic purifying activity in long term use under high temperatures exceeding 900.degree. C., the exhaust gas purifying catalyst comprising a heat-resistant oxide which is expressed by the following general formula: AMn.sub.x Al.sub.12-X O.sub.19 (where A represents an alkaline earth metal which can be substituted by an alkali metal and/or a rare earth element, and x represents an atomic ratio of 0.5 to 4) and a noble metal.
