Abstract
An apparatus and a method of vacuum mixing mixes substances consisting of at least one powder component and at least one liquid component, in particular of bone cement. An evacuatable mixing vessel (1) has a body (4), which is movable within the mixing vessel. The outer circumference of the body (4) and the inner wall of the mixing vessel (1) form an air-tight seal. The inside of the body (4) is provided with an opening which is covered with a filter (9). The filter (9) is designed such that it can be penetrated by air but not by the powder component of the mixture of substances. With the apparatus according to the invention it is possible to produce a mixture of substances which is free of bubbles.
