Abstract
Novel detergent hair compositions (shampoos) which are more particularly suitable for so-called sensitized hair, comprising a cosmetically acceptable medium containing at least one anionic surface-active agent, at least one nonionic surface-active agent, at least one conditioning agent, and at least 2% by weight relative to the total weight of the detergent hair composition of at least one carboxylic acid having a hydroxyl radical in the .alpha. position (alpha-hydroxy acid) or a derivative thereof. The compositions make it possible to obtain hair which, after washing, has enhanced lightness, smoothness, shine and mechanical strength.
