Abstract
The invention disclosed relates to novel functionalized benzocyclobutenones of structural formula I ##STR1## wherein R is NH.sub.2, reactive NH.sub.2 derivatives including acids, acid chlorides, amides and diazonium salts, OH, CN, NO.sub.2, H, I, F Br, Cl, mercapto and deuterium. Also disclosed are polymer compositions comprising thermal reaction products of the benzocyclobutenones of formula I and either a polyol or a polyamine.
